Leanne R. Ross holds a Bachelor’s in Education from Martin Luther College (New Ulm, MN). She studied art at Inver Hills Community College and the University of Minnesota at Mankato and Minneapolis, MN.
As a teacher of art she hopes to guide her students to see the beauty of God’s creation and to keep His blessings in mind as they create in their own style. She has taught many art courses for children through adult levels including calligraphy, drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media, fiber arts, and graphic design.
She currently teaches drawing and graphic communications at Wisconsin Lutheran High School and has been artistic and general editor and advisor of the high school yearbook staff for 13 years. Her yearbook designs having won national awards. Other awards include the top prize at an art competition. Her students have won art scholarships and art awards.
Leanne has also served as a commissioned artist for wall murals, calligraphy pieces, portrait work, and children’s book illustrating. For five years she has also worked as a studio photographer. Leanne is a long time member of the Cream City Paper Arts and Calligraphers. Leanne says, ‘It has been a wonderful adventure to create illustrations for the Children of the Light series keeping in mind Nine kids, Nine gifts, Nine blessed.
